We are working hard to produce FREE future seminars in partnership with the FBI and the Los Angeles Infragard Members Alliance and other organizations servicing the security and law enforcement community.
During the summer of 2014, several different organizations are sponsoring security training and emergency preparedness fairs for the Los Angeles Jewish Community. Each training has it’s own goal and strengths. Attending one isn’t enough. Attending all these security training and awareness fairs can help members of the Jewish community – synagogues, temples, schools, organizations, charities, and individuals gain a better understanding of what do when the worst happens.

Topic: The goal of this workshop is to provide valuable information to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from active shooter threats, the most likely threat to our community today. Most active shooter events are over in ten minutes or less, so the response to such an event is critical. Seconds count in saving lives. Our goal is to promote awareness of safety issues in relation to an active shooter event and empower the school to rapidly and effectively respond to the emergency.

Annual Safety & Security Fair Sponsored by The Jewish Federation’s Community Security Initiative
Location: The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles 6505 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90048
Topic: This year, the fair will include members of our local, State and Federal public-sector partners such as; Department of Homeland Security, California Office of Emergency Services, Los Angeles Police Department and many more. We will also be featuring several companies who will be displaying the latest in safety and security technologies and the Joint Regional Intelligence Center will be providing a brief on security threats and best practices. The purpose of the fair is to give the Jewish community a place to spend a few hours in the company of safety and security experts from the public and private sector and learn about programs and technologies available to Jewish institutions. Information obtained from this event could help leaders find practical ways to improve their security posture and empower them with the knowledge to make their site safer and more secure. Attendance is free and there will be free limited parking available on site. Refreshments and a light snack will be provided. We expect larger numbers at this year’s event so please register soon!

Topic: Lieutenant Colonel (Res.) Gideon Avrami is Head of Security for Jerusalem’s Malcha Mall. He also serves as Colonel in the Israeli Defense Forces, reserves. Avrami’s past experience includes managing Azrieli Center Towers in Tel Aviv and the Laromme Hotel as well as manager of the King David Hotel from 1998 – 2001. Avrami worked from 1989 – 1993 with the foreign Ministry and was in charge of security for the Israeli Embassy and the El Al offices in Nicosia, Cyprus and The Hague, Netherlands.
