Most of us had enough on our hands with puberty. Shaw had to deal with that plus hemophilia and HIV. Infected at 11, he was kicked out of 6th grade because of HIV (cards/letters to the school board in Waynesboro, Virginia). That was in the early 80s. Shawn survived and continues to survive.
