A new and reorganized government website on HIV/AIDS can now be found at www.aidsinfo.nih.gov. The site includes information on clinical trials, an HIV glossary, treatment publications and guidelines, and many more resources.

The Association of Nutrition Services Agencies website has nutrition guidelines and fact sheets to help people living with HIV/AIDS. www.aidsnutrition.org

A Clinical Guide to Supportive and Palliative Care for HIV/AIDS (2003 edition) is available at http://hab.hrsa.gov/tools/palliative. Sections include: Introduction; Management of Advanced HIV Disease; Psychosocial, Cultural, and Ethical Issues; and Care at the End of Life.

Online Internet support group for men and women with HIV. www.hiv-support.org

Fact sheets on a variety of topics are available from the National AIDS Treatment Information Project. www.natip.org

The Critical Path AIDS Project offers Internet services, HIV/AIDS activist resources, and more. There's also a link to the AIDS Library. www.critpath.org

Party Smarty Marty is a website that explains important interactions between recreational drugs and anti-HIV medications. www.hafci.org/drugs

The Canadian AIDS Treatment Information Exchange (CATIE) has fact sheets and publications on a wide range of topics including alternative medicine, dietary supplements, and drug side effects. There's also an HIV/AIDS thesaurus and other resources. www.catie.ca

 

DON'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS? If you are in the Houston area, remember that The Center for AIDS has 2 computer workstations available to search for information on HIV/AIDS. The walk-in information center (1407 Hawthorne) is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, consider visiting a local branch of your public library.
