Although not a book specifically about HIV/AIDS, this book shows us the trauma that man gay men have experienced during their childhood that has contributed to many problems that can be linked to becoming HIV positive. It is a very explicit book that will open your eyes and make you wonder how some of these individuals were able to cope with life after they became an adult. Unfortunately, many sexually abused gay men do not make it to adult life because of suicide. The one chapter that speaks about HIV/AIDS is "HIV and the Cycle of Trauma in Gay Men." Here, the author shows how important patient education is in reducing risks and how difficult it is to show these individuals that they should have safer sex. This is a highly recommended book for all academic libraries.
