This is a collection of newsletters covering timely information on HIV nutrition, including comprehensive research articles. Also included are articles covering popular alternative therapies and medications. These are excellent articles that provide a wealth of information for those who are HIV positive, including nutritional treatments for unintentional weight loss. The lead articles in each of the issues cover: "Micronutrients and the Progression of HIV-1 Disease," "Micronutrient Recommendations for the HIV-Challenged," "B12: Dementia and Cognition," "HIV and Exercise," "Pediatric Issues," "Pediatric Issues in HIV Disease," "Calories and Energy Needs," "A Review of Nutritional Care Guidelines," "Nutritional Assessment of the Person Living with HIV," "Protein Needs and HIV," "Women and HIV," "Geneva Highlights," "Have Fat Will Travel," "Assessing Barriers to Nutritional Services," "Evolution of Nutrition Screening Services in a Community Based HIV Clinic," "Review of Nutritional Treatments for Unintentional Weight Loss," "Pharmaceutical Treatments for Unintentional Weight Loss in HIV Disease," "Vitamin B12 Revisited: Old Wine in New Bottles," "Heart Healthy Food Choices in the Era of HAART," and "A Preliminary Look at Substance Abuse."

Each of the articles includes an alternative focus, med watch, resource corner, glossary, program spotlight, and Internet sources. This is an excellent resource that provides in layperson's terms information that will help the HIV positive individual with his or her nutritional treatment. It is a highly recommended source for all health science libraries and would be well suited for any public library.
