This book discusses the issue of free movement of persons living with HIV/AIDS between countries throughout the world. The first part of the book covers restrictions on the free movement of persons either authorized or forbidden by International and European law. The next part covers the legislation of the various European Union Member states in regards to HIV/AIDS and the last part looks at those countries that are not part of the European Union. Unfortunately, there is no written restrictive text that restricts the movement of individuals with HIV/AIDS. Since no text permits controls, such controls should at present be ruled out. A very important chapter is a country-by-country examination of the legislation in European Union member states and the third part of the book covers the same for third world countries.

This is an excellent resource for those contemplating travel throughout the world. As with all books of this type, one should consult more recent sources to make sure policies have not changed or that laws have been enacted to restrict travel. Consulting with the European Commission in Brussels would be well advised.
