Churchill Livingstone/Harcourt Health Sciences, Curtis Center, Independence Square West, Philadelphia, PA 19106-3399. 155p., color illus., bibliog., index. (Colour Guide). ISBN 0-443-06168-8. $19.95.
Siobhan M. Murphy, Gary Brook, Martin A. Birchall. 2000.

The first edition of this book was published in 1992 as Colour Guide: HIV Infection and AIDS. There have been many changes since that first edition. As a result, much of the book has been rewritten and new chapters added that cover symptom-based issues, fever and constitutional symptoms, musculoskeletal problems, and problems in the urogenital system. There is also a new chapter on pregnancy. This book is not intended to be comprehensive "but rather to give an insight into some of the more common clinical features of HIV infection and AIDS and of the recent changes and advances in treatment." The final chapter discusses Highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART). This is a highly recommended book for all medical libraries. The text is concise and to the point accompanied by outstanding color photographs.
