MEDICAL UPDATE: CMV Retinitis Retreatment Trial

SOCA (Studies of the Ocular Complications of AIDS) has announced a CMV retinitis retreatment trial. This is for patients with CMV retinitis who have been treated for at least one month within the past month with either ganciclovir or foscarnet and who still have active disease. Participants will be randomized to receive high-dose ganciclovir or high-dose foscarnet or a combination of these two drugs.
