NEWS IN BRIEF: Drug side-effects

AIDS Treatment Update, Issue 58, October 1997
Edward King

The Medical Research Council HIV Clinical Trials Centre, in collaboration with the Medicines Control Agency and the Committee on Safety of Medicines are shortly to launch a joint scheme to encourage more complete reporting of side-effects of anti-HIV drugs by doctors and pharmacists. The move follows concern that relatively few side-effects from anti-HIV therapy are being reported via the standard scheme for reporting drug toxicities.
