AIDS Treatment Update, Issue 41, May 1996
Edward King

* Living Proof

The Living Proof conference for long-term survivors of HIV and AIDS took place in London on 12th - 13th April.

Workshops looked at medical, psychological and political issues, and the conference ended with a plenary session looking at what needs to happen next. Unanimously, delegates felt it would be a shame to let the enthusiasm and ideas go.

A meeting is therefore planned for June, open to any worker, carer or HIV-positive person interested in working for greater visibility, recognition and support for long-term survivors. The meeting will coincide with the publication of the conference report, and will be advertised when a date has been set.

* EuroPoz

A new support and information service has been set up for HIV-positive people in Europe. EuroPoz is an electronic mailing list, a service where people can send a message to a central address and have it distributed automatically to all the other members. It is backed by Digital Diversity, a group that promotes the use of the Internet amongst the lesbian, gay and bisexual communities.

To join the mailing list send a message to EuroPoz-REQUEST@diversity.org.uk. For information on getting online, write to EuroPoz, PO Box 7248, London E5 8UL.
