Summary: The abstracts of four major AIDS conferences that were unavailable online or in libraries around the world have now been found after AIDS Treatment News asked people to look for copies. Please check old files, boxes, bookshelves, and other archives for other missing conferences listed here.
Our last issue listed major AIDS conferences that were missing -- the abstracts were not available anywhere online, and neither the U.S. National Library of Medicine nor the organization that sponsored the conference had a printed or electronic copy. Since the article appeared the first four International AIDS Conference have been found, and AEGIS (http://www.aegis.org) is now working to get them online. When that work is complete, all the International AIDS Conference abstracts will be available throughout the world. (The 2004 conference in Bangkok can be searched at a different site, http://www.iasociety.org/ejias/search.asp?).
The other conference abstracts are still missing. These are:
Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, numbers 1 and 2.
International Conference on Drug Therapies in HIV Infection (Glasgow, Scotland), numbers 1, 3, and 4.
International Workshop on Adverse Drug Reactions and Lipodystrophy in HIV, numbers 2 and 3.
International HIV Drug Resistance Workshop, numbers 1 through 10.
If you know of a library or private copy of any of these (either print or electronic) that Sister Mary Elizabeth of AEGIS may be able to borrow, let her know. She will negotiate permission with the conference sponsors before releasing the information online.
