Summary: GlaxoSmithKline is offering research grants to scientists for certain innovative projects involving the development of HIV treatment, vaccines, or microbicides.
GlaxoSmithKline will award a total of $250,000 for innovative HIV/AIDS treatment, vaccine, or microbicide drug discovery and development research (from $25,000 to $150,000 for each grant). Researchers must submit applications by July 31, 2004 and the grants will be paid on December 1. There is no obligation to license resulting technology to the company.
In the previous three years of the program, GSK has awarded $1.25 million to 14 researchers.
