ICAAC Research Conference: Free Telephone Summary September 19

A free one-hour expert telephone conference on the highlights of the annual ICAAC (the 40th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy) will take place September 19 starting at 5 p.m. Pacific time / 6 p.m. Mountain / 7 p.m. Central / 8 p.m. Eastern time. (ICAAC itself is mid September in Toronto--for more information on this year's meeting, see "ICAAC, September 17-20 in Toronto," in this issue.)

The expert panel for the telephone conference will be:

* Ronald Baker, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief, HIV and Hepatitis.com;

* Calvin Cohen, M.D., Research Director, Community Research Initiative of New England and HIV Consultant, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates;

* David A. Cooper, M.D. (moderator), Professor of Medicine and Director, National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research, University of New South Wales, Australia;

* Steven Deeks, M.D., San Francisco General Hospital AIDS Program;

* Michael Saag, M.D., Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Director of the AIDS Outpatient Clinic at UAB, and

* Barbara Weiser, M.D., Co-Director of HIV Research at the Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health, and Professor of Medicine at Albany Medical College.

To join the teleconference, you must register in advance (first names only). To register, call 1-800-880-5121 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. You will be given a different phone number to call in to join the conference.
