(ATDN) Treatment Briefs: Male Couples Project

Treatment Review No. 23 - December 1996

A project in New York is offering eight-week group workshops for male couples in which one partner is HIV positive and the other is HIV negative. The workshops, led by two facilitators, are aimed at reducing the stress faced by these couples in such areas as sustaining safer sex, developing better communication skills, planning for the future, and maintaining relationship satisfaction. The workshops are offered free of charge at sites throughout New York City. Eligible couples are men aged 22-55 who have been in a committed relationship for at least four months and are physically able to participate in the group. Call The Network for a referral.
