Zimbabwe Soccer Champs Highlanders Promote AIDS Awareness

The under-19 squad of Highlanders Football Club of Bulawayo defeated Railstars of Bulawayo 4-2 Friday in a soccer match organized to mark World Aids Day.

Highlanders said it is targeting youth in its campaign aimed at promoting awareness of the risk of contracting HIV-AIDS, both among players and the larger community.

Highlanders is working with a U.S. organization, Grass Roots Soccer, which conducts campaigns in schools to educate and build awareness of the pandemic.
