NuShawn Williams _ identified by court officials as Shyteek Johnson was arrested in September and convicted of attempting to sell drugs to an undercover officer.
Since then, New York City and upstate Chautauqua County officials began discovering numerous women and girls who were infected with HIV from unprotected sex with Williams.
So far, 10 women have been diagnosed with the virus that causes AIDS, including one 14-year-old girl. Authorities say they believe he slept with dozens of women, often trading drugs for sex.
Chautauqua County police, in western New York where Williams lived for about a year, have charged him with statutory rape and reckless endangerment and depraved indifference to human life.
Charles Hynes, the district attorney in Brookyln _ where Williams also lived _ announced Friday that his office was looking for more victims of the man, who turned 21 Saturday.
Hynes says he would file separate first-degree assault charges for every victim he can find.
