Prostitute Seized in Chicago Is Said to Have Spread AIDS

The New York Times - December 25, 1985

CHICAGO, Dec. 25 - A prostitute who is believed to be spreading AIDS and has been sought for several weeks has been arrested, the Chicago police say.

The prostitute, identified as Nadine Moore, and a man in his 50's were arrested Monday in a parked car. Miss Moore was charged with prostitution and public indecency and released after taking a test to indicate previous exposure to the AIDS virus, the police said. The man was charged with patronizing a prostitute.

"The Illinois Department of Public Health has no way to quarantine the woman," said Paul O'Connor, a department spokesman.
