Chronicle Staff Report
At an event from noon to 5:30 p.m. today, residents will be able to get general health and HIV screening tests.
They will also receive information about routine HIV testing, rapid HIV tests, maternal and family health information, STD screening and emergency health and medical services.
The event is part of a long-term goal to get every Oakland resident from age 13 to 65 tested for HIV.
It is sponsored by a range of public and private groups that includes Oakland, Alameda County, the Levi Straus Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation and Kaiser Permanente.
