Based on results from a recent 120-week study involving 2,500 HIV-infected patients, the data showed viral load was significantly lower in Remune patients compared with a control group at multiple time-points over the period of the study.
The study was discontinued based on the recommendation from the independent Data Safety Monitoring Board based on the board's belief that the trial would not be able to show a statistically significant difference in the number of patient deaths between treatment groups.
Immune Response shares were unchanged Wednesday on the Nasdaq stock market at 3-15/16.
