"We have applied for registration in the EU...we hope to launch the medicine in Europe in the middle of next year," P&U spokesman Anders Hedin told Reuters.
The company had earlier said it was aiming to get approval for the medicine by the first quarter of 1999.
Rescriptor is a medicine which is supposed to be used in a cocktail with other drugs, such as AZT, in order to repress the HIV virus that causes AIDS.
