(RE) Sharon Stone to raise corporate funds for AIDS

Reuters NewMedia, Inc. - 4 Dec 1995

NEW YORK (Reuter) - Film Star Sharon Stone, who will head a three-year fundraising campaign to raise $76 million for the American Foundation for Aids Research, expects to travel widely in the United States and abroad.

She will attempt to raise money from corporations and other groups for AIDS research, a spokesman for the foundation said Monday.

The group is headed by Dr Mathilde Krim and actress Elizabeth Taylor. Reuters Friday erroneously reported that Stone would be replacing Taylor as chief fundraiser but the spokesman said Taylor, currently recuperating from a hip replacement operation, remained as co-chair of the group.
