AMSTERDAM, November 17/PRNewswire/ -- More than 50.000 young people will take a stand on the 29th of November during Dance4Life events in 19 countries. The worldwide Dance4Life movement is growing rapidly. This year 150,000 extra youth were reached with Dance4Life Schools Projects and the number of participating countries has almost doubled since 2006. In 2014, Dance4Life wants to have involved at least 1 million youth (Agents of Change) in actively pushing back the spread of HIV and AIDS.
During the events, the Dance4Life youth will send a powerful signal to the world leaders, who in 2015 will evaluate the Millennium Development Goals. Goal 6 states that by 2015 the spread of diseases such as AIDS must be stopped.
The Dance4Life initiative is supported by world leaders like Kofi Annan and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who will kick off the worldwide live event.
The language of young people.
More than 33 million people are living with HIV or AIDS. People under 25 years old count for half of all new infections. Dance4Life involves this young generation with a personal, interactive and emotional approach. During Schools Projects youth is given the knowledge and skills - like communication, negotiation and leadership skills - to take actions that will lead to social change and contribute to pushing back HIV and AIDS. The Dance4Life event is the conclusion of the Schools Project.

Worldwide movement
Originating in the Netherlands, the initiative is now active in nineteen countries: Germany, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, UK, USA, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In the coming two years, at least ten more countries will take part in the initiative.
