A Skate for Remembrance and Hope - Blades Against AIDS 2, A World AIDS Day Benefit for Body Positive

PRNewswire - November 22, 2004

NEW YORK, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Join Body Positive at its second annual World AIDS Day fundraiser "Blades Against AIDS 2," co-produced by the New York City Gay Hockey Association, 64events.com and Out of Bounds. This event takes place on Wednesday, December 1 from 8pm to Midnight at the Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers, Pier 61 at 23rd Street and the Hudson River. All proceeds from the event will provide valuable funds necessary for Body Positive to continue the mission of providing information, programs and services to people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

"World's AIDS Day is a remembrance of those who fought HIV and AIDS and an inspiration for those of us carrying on their legacy. While we've come along way in our fight against this terrible epidemic, people continue to be misinformed about this disease, which leads to increased infection and stigmatization," said Eric Rodriguez, Executive Director, Body Positive, New York, NY. "This fundraiser, through the generosity of our major sponsor's Melissa Brown Ltd., Philip Marie, Posh, Sky Rink and Village Copier, and with the production support of the NYC Gay Hockey Association, 64events.com and Out of Bounds, will allow Body Positive to do even more to help the New York metropolitan area's HIV/AIDS community."

Jeff Kagan, Director and founder of the NYC Gay Hockey Association and President of 64events.com noted, "This event was borne out of the increasing need to help organizations like Body Positive continue to provide education and support to those whose needs are the greatest. It's a cause that the gay hockey league and 64events.com care about deeply and are proud to support."
