Plenary speakers include A.D. McNaughten, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Atlanta, GA); Wade K. Meyer, Humor Consultants (Columbus, 0H); Robert Fullilove, Columbia University (New York, NY); Rev. Daniel Newman, Northern Kentucky Independent District Health Department (Edgewood, KY); and Michael McDonald, Ohio AIDS Coalition (Columbus, OH).
Workshop sessions will address HIV/AIDS in African-American and Latino communities, issues faced by women and youth, issues specific to youth in out- of-home placements (e.g., foster care), HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment funding, specific concerns of gay and bisexual men, the faith community's response to HIV/AIDS, and more.

Since 1998, World AIDS Day (WAD) has been observed internationally every year on December 1. It is designed to encourage support for and development of programs to prevent the spread of HIV infection and to provide education and awareness of issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. WAD is sponsored in the United States by the American Association for World Health.
