PRNewswire - October 27, 1999

NEW YORK, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third consecutive year, the advertising industry will host the Madison Avenue Sellout, an auction and garage sale of products and services donated by the advertising community to benefit AIDS services. The Madison Avenue Sellout will be held on November 3, 1999 at the Tent at Lincoln Center. Madison Avenue Sellout founders Richard Kirshenbaum of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners and Sharon Spielman, Managing Director of Jerry Fields are again co-chairing the event and are committed to an event goal of raising $400,000, doubling last years' contributions of $200,000. Additionally, Ivana Trump has joined the cause this year and will be participating in the event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the UJA-Federation AIDS Initiative, the lead organization for the event and one of the New York area's largest providers of services to people with AIDS, and the American Foundation For AIDS Research (amfAR).

"Last year 22 advertising agencies and 650 people came out to support this event. In just two short years, this has become the largest event in the industry. We are continuing to expand with the inclusion of Interactive agencies and Public Relations agencies this year," said Sharon Spielman, Managing Director, Jerry Fields.

"The Madison Avenue Sellout is the only ad industry event that actually gives as much to the charity as it does to the hearts of those participating in it," said Richard Kirshenbaum, Co-chairman, Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners. "And I'm looking forward to finding some great stuff myself!"

"We're very excited about the event this year," said Marty Pompadur, executive vice president, News Corp Limited, and co-chair of UJA-Federations Entertainment, Media & Communications Division. "AIDS services are such an important part of what we do, and we're thrilled to join hands with Sharon and Richard, and the entire advertising industry, in the fight against this terrible disease."

The Madison Avenue Sellout is open to both the advertising community and the public. Admission is $75 in advance and $85 at the door for both advertising executives and the general public. Junior tickets are available for $35 for people who have under five years' experience in the advertising business.

The Madison Avenue Sellout is sponsored by Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, Jerry Fields Associates, Avrett Free & Ginsberg, excite.com, AdWeek, Seagram's Americas, Advertrailer with strategic partners 3M and GM Nameplate and Sotheby's Fashion Department.
