Simplex Medical Systems, Inc. Receives Notification From Spain and Initial Order from Costa Rica

HALLANDALE, Fla., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Simplex Medical Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SMLX - news) announced today that they have received notification from Spain's Ministry of Health, which allows for the importation of the Simplex Rapid HIV Saliva Test(TM), Simplex Rapid Saliva Test(TM) for Hepatitis, Simplex P.S.A. Blood Test, which tests a patient for the existence of prostate cancer, Simplex Rapid Saliva Test(TM) for H.pylori which indicates the existence of stomach ulcers, as well as the Simplex Rapid Saliva Test(TM) for drugs that determines the existence of cocaine and opiates in a patient's system.

After due consideration and examination of the Simplex Products, Spain's Ministry of Health has determined that these products are not subject to regulation by the Spanish Ministry of Health, and can be imported and distributed throughout Spain, subject to their country's commercial law and consumer protection law.

Additionally Simplex announced they have received their first order for The Simplex Rapid HIV Saliva Test(TM) from Costa Rica. The first shipment is ready to be sent January of 1998.

The Simplex Rapid Saliva Tests(TM), are point of use diagnostic tests that screen a patient's saliva within minutes to determine the presence of certain antibodies. Simplex has received approval from: Brazil, Venezuela, Italy, Hong Kong, Spain and France for various products, as well as 510K approval in the United States for the Simplex Jet Stream Airbrator, which Sybron Dental Specialties (NYSE: SYB - news) has recently signed a contract to distribute worldwide.
