Trinity Biotech Announces $20 Million Three Year Contract with Warner-Lambert

DUBLIN, Ireland, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Trinity Biotech plc (Nasdaq: TRIBY) announced today that it has signed a three year contract with Warner-Lambert to be their exclusive supplier of pregnancy tests for the Over the Counter (OTC) market in the U.S.A. The pregnancy test will be sold by Warner-Lambert under the ept(TM) brand name which is the leading pregnancy test in the U.S. OTC market. The contract, which will produce revenues for Trinity Biotech in excess of $20 million over three years, continues the successful relationship which Trinity established over the past two years by supplying the ept(TM) test to Warner-Lambert.

Commenting on the announcement, Ronan O'Caoimh, Chief Executive Officer of Trinity, stated, "we are delighted to sign this contract which extends our highly successful relationship with Warner-Lambert. Trinity Biotech is a leader in the development of rapid tests for the Point of Care and OTC markets. Trinity's recently developed Uni- Gold HIV test utilises its unique one-step technology to detect the presence of antibodies to HIV. This is an enabling technology which can be utilised to detect a wide range of infectious diseases and other diagnostic markers. Trinity is currently in negotiation with several potential strategic partners with the marketing and financial muscle to successfully handle these products in the Point of Care markets.
