Highly represented in the international conference on AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases (CISMA), healers and other African traditional practitioners plan to organise a rally on Wednesday in order to be heard.
The conference has recommended the implementation of a commitment taken by governments during the African summit held in Abuja in April 2001.
The commitment consisted the devotion of 15 percent of their national budgets to the HIV/AIDS infection and tuberculosis.
The conference also underscored the necessity for the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to support the least developed countries as well as those badly hit by the HIV/AIDS epidemic to mobilise additional resources to buy generic drugs.
