Although triple therapy was the standard treatment for relieving pain in an AIDS patient, he said only two types of drugs were available in the country's medical stores.
For the time being, Moukaila admitted, AIDS case management in Niger was not effective. He said there was no drug price reduction policy.
Pending the use of triple therapy, various initiatives are being undertaken launched in the country.
Scientists have listed some medicinal plants for treating opportunistic infections related to HIV/AIDS, said Dr. Abdou Aboubacar, who is in charge of case management at the NACP.
