The 50-page document on HIV/AIDS within the labour world, highlights prevention, managing and alleviating the impact of HIV/AIDS on labour, care and support for infected or affected workers, and eliminating HIV-based stigma and discrimination.
Initiators of the document say that since HIV/AIDS is related to the work place, it should be tackled like any other serious disease or situation.
"This is necessary not only because the issue affects workers, but also because the workplace has a role to play in global efforts at curbing the spread and effects of HIV/AIDS," the ILO stressed.
