OBITUARY: Kenneth Meeks

The New York Times - October 3, 1986


Kenneth Meeks, a member of the board of directors of the Gay Men's Health Crisis, a social-service and educational organization assisting victims of acquired immune deficiency syndrome, or AIDS, died of an AIDS-related illness last Friday while visiting San Francisco.

He was 45 years old and lived in Manhattan.

Dr. Meeks, a graduate of Newark State College, received a doctorate in social sciences from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. He was an assistant professor of economics at George Williams College in Downers Grove, Ill., from 1975 until 1982.

Surviving are his parents, Kenneth and Fernanda Meeks of Englishtown, N.J., and a brother, Ronald, of Cranford, N.J.
