The three month partnership campaign was launched on Friday at The New Vision headquarters in Kampala.
The committee chairperson, Beatrice Rwakimari, said the project aimed at enhancing the prevention of HIV.
"The public will be invited to nominate persons they regard as their role models in positive prevention, abstinence, fidelity, and leadership in HIV prevention at the local level," she said.
The public will send their nominations to the New Vision Publishing Company on P O Box 9815 Kampala or through upcountry agents, Rwakimari added.
Vision Group advertising manager Godfrey Mulengi said they would run adverts in The New Vision, Etop, Rupiny, Bukedde and Orumuri and on radios (Vision Voice, Radio West, Bukedde FM, Etop Radio and Rupiny) calling for nominations.
Mulengi said credible stories of role models would be published in The New Vision and its sister papers.
He added that a panel of stakeholders from the media, Parliament, civil society, and faith-based organisations, would review the stories and choose the winners.
