The 'New Start in the Fight against AIDS' follows the success of a board game, Make a New Start Today, launched at the World AIDS Day celebrations last year. It supports youth participation in depicting different variables of HIV/AIDS, in prose or art.
Make a new start today followed the Abstinence, Be Faithful and Condom use (ABC) strategy. Instead of mere education on HIV/AIDS, the game involves youth directly, in discovering pertinent issues concerning HIV/AIDS.
The game was developed by Adrian Sandy and Bill Reynell of Casper & Carew Edutainment International.
PEVOT programme expert Frauke Ossig said the game is intended to stimulate informed choices on sexual activities in real life. PEVOT brings together six German agencies to develop demand-driven vocational training.
