The campaign is based on the realisation that the future generation are likely to be faced with greater challenges unless new HIV infections are prevented among mothers.
The observations were made at the late Philly Lutaaya Memorial Day celebrations held at Kalangala district headquarters, last week.
Philly Lutaaya was the first Ugandan to publicly declare that he had HIV/AIDS when there was still stigma, denial and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
Kalangala LC5 chief Daniel Kikoola lamented that the district has a high number of female youth engaged in commercial sex.
