The sh40m centre, with internet and computer facilities, is in Waina village, Baitambogwe sub-county.
Officiating at the launch on Friday, BROSDI board chairman Vincent Waiswa Bagiire said the centre will help residents access information and communication technology (ICT) services to improve their standards of living.
Bagiire urged the residents to use the facility, saying ICT was the most viable income- generating project. "We should embrace ICT to wipe out poverty from the community. We are poor because we lack information," he said.
The centre will also sensitise communities on better agricultural practices, HIV/AIDS and sponsor needy students for higher education.
Bagiire handed over bicycles and sh600,000 to youth HIV/AIDS groups to facilitate their awareness campaign.
Mayuge, Pallisa, Luweero and Masaka farmers exhibited agricultural products.
Bagiire said plans were underway to build a health centre and community hall.
