New Vision (Kampala) - December 14, 2005
This radio drama, which was launched in July this year, was designed to help reduce HIV/AIDS among young people.
The weekly radio serial drama airs on nine radio stations in four languages; English, Luganda, 4Rs and Luo. The stations are KFM (93.3), Radio Simba (97.3), Buddu FM (98.8), Radio West (100.2), Voice of Toro (101), Voice of Kigezi (89.5), Voice of Teso (88.4), Mega FM (102), Lira FM (95.3) and Kiira FM (88.6).
YEAH was initiated by Uganda AIDS Commission in 2004 with funds from USAID and in collaboration with key stakeholders to campaign for HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health among people aged 15-24 years.
In the spirit of partnership and collaboration, several organisations are taking YEAH to all regions.
Save the Children in Uganda is coordinating other organisations in the north, AIDS Information Centre in South western Region, while Student Partnership Worldwide (SPW) will coordinate YEAH activities in eastern Uganda.
