Museveni said, "Do not hear that ARVs have come and you go on rampage. Experts have told us ARVs only reduce the virus in the blood and do not cure HIV/AIDS."
Museveni was officiating at the opening of an Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) clinic and a guesthouse, at Rushere community hospital in Kiruhura district on Friday.
Construction of the clinic was supported by the American government through USAID.
Museveni said since there is no known cure for the scourge, prevention will do, a State House statement said.
Museveni hailed the Joint Clinical Research Centre for its contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
