Handing over equipment to the Minister of State for Primary Health Care, Dr. Alex Kamugisha, at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Kampala recently, Dr. Ken Henry, Bayline Services director, said the equipment would reduce on the cost of pain-killers and improve on the patients welfare.
The equipment included diagnostic kits, microscopes and teens machines, a special machine used in the management of pain especially in the cancer and HIV/AIDS patients.
"Teens machine is a direct substitute to pain-killers such as aspirin with special electrons which reduced pain in patients. It also has an added values of making colloidal medicine," Henry said.
Henry, who led a 27-man delegation to Uganda for two weeks, said health workers at Jinja and Mulago hospitals had been trained in pain management and how to use the machine efficiently.
The group also donated computers, nurses' and doctors' textbooks and clothes to disadvantaged communities in Wakiso district.
Henry promised continued support and said more equipment would arrive in January next year.
Flanked by Dr. Sam Zaramba, the director of Clinical and Community Services at the ministry, Dr. Kamugisha thanked Bayline Service for the support and said the machines would help financially constrained patients to access health care.
