People have been advised to abstain from sex and only use the condom if they cannot.

state minister for regional cooperation Augustine Nshimye Sebutulo said condoms should be used as a last resort in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

"The safest way by international communities was to use the condom but thanks to our president who is advocating abstinence for the youth and zero grazing for the adults," he said.

Nsihimye was addressing Mubende residents during a handover of Action aid projects.

He handed over a vehicle to the district and sh50,000m to help community-based organisations in Kasmbya and Kitenga sub-counties.
