Masaka, Britain co-operate

MASAKA - a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on research, construction and rehabilitation of health centres has been signed between Masaka district local government and the British Medical Research Council (MRC).

The MRC head of programme, Dr Heiner Grosskurth the Masaka chief administrative officer, Yusuf Ssentenza and the district director of health services, Dr Tom Rukundo signed the agreement in Masaka on December 8.

The LC 5 chairman, Vincent Ssempijja launched the MRC/TASO cryptococcal meningitis trial building in Masaka. Cryptococcal meningitis is a fungal infection of the brain that often affects people who are HIV positive.
