He said there was lack of sufficient information on the real and aggregated impact of HIV/AIDS yet stakeholders needed such information if their interventions are to yield the desired results.
Toure said this recently in a speech read by his assistant, Sam Igaga Ibanda, at a workshop HIV/AIDS at Jinja Nile Resort.
"A lot of work has been done in this country but much of it has concentrated on explaining issues relating to prevalence, factors affecting behaviour change, programme issues and programme evaluations...but there is lack of sufficient information on the real and aggregated impact of HIV/AIDS," Tuore said.
He said it was important to develop systems for determining not only the current impact of AIDS but also the future trends.
Toure called for active participation of the youth in the fight against the epidemic to enhance success.
He said statistics from the Uganda AIDS Commission indicate that the impact of HIV/AIDS is estimated to annually reduce the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2% in severely affected countries like Uganda.
