Flemming Bjork Pedersen, the ambassador to Uganda, said, "We commend your president for spearheading the fight and the Ugandan population for their openness about the disease."
He was speaking yesterday at the signing of a US$4m grant to The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) at its offices in Kanyanya, north of the city.
He said openness had made the country a global model for the campaign against the deadly disease that has killed over one million Ugandans.
The grant will support the TASO 2003-2007 strategic plan. Pedersen said Denmark released the money because of Uganda Government's credibility.
