TASO Supports Aids Orphans

New Vision (Kampala) - December 13, 2002
Esther Mukyala

A total of 876 children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and those whose parents are living with the virus have been supported by The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) in Uganda.

This was said by the chief executive officer, TASO Uganda, Dr. Alex Courtinho, at a handover ceremony of tool kits to children being supported by TASO in Jinja district, at the Jinja Town Hall on Monday.

Courtinho said the support was part of the US$1m (about sh18b) aid for children under that category.

He said the funds were used to provide school fees, food and life skills. Ends
