Solomon Muyita
Kabusenene, remanded two months ago on charges of terrorism and aggravated robbery, was making an application for bail.
He told the seven-member coram chaired by Lt. Gen. Elly Tumwine that there was a possibility that he would die in prison.
He said in a statement through Sgt. Mugerwa Lukwago, the defence counsel, "I am suffering from AIDS that requires constant specialised medical tests, attention and care, which are lacking in the prisons."
"If my client doesn't get bail, he is likely to die in the cells (of Makindye Military Police Barracks), where he is on remand. He has collapsed twice at Mbuya Military Hospital," added Mugerwa, producing both Kabusenene's affidavit and medical documents.
Maj. Dr. Ochen, the UPDF chief physician, signed some of the documents confirming the ailments.
Kabusenene, who was carrying mineral water bottle, supported himself with a walking stick.
