According to estimates of the HIV/AIDS epidemic as of December 2001, children make up about one tenth of the people who have died of AIDS.
Out of 1,050,555 Ugandans living with HIV/AIDS by the end of last year, 105,055 were children aged below 15 years of age, according to the report compiled by the AIDS Control Programme of the Ministry of Health. More and more children with HIV are turning up.
