Frank Mubiru in London
NOF London officer Ceri Jones revealed this while presenting to Dr Godfrey Luyombya, Chairman of UAAF, a plaque during a press conference at London Bridge's Health First offices last week.
Luyombya said that receiving the funding for such a project was a major breakthrough for organisations working with African communities in London.
"For the first time, the funding will enable an African consortium to implement a series of projects using a grass-root approach to deal with the health inequalities suffered by African communities," he said.
Steven Dunmore, Chief Executive of the NOF, commended UAAF for its good record upon which the South London project is built. He promised to use the funds effectively.
