New Vision (Kampala) - November 5, 2001
Moses Odongo
This was revealed recently by the district point officer, Godfrey Ogwal, during a workshop for the district team at Lira Hotel.
He said seven pilot sub-counties of Omoro, Aromo, Ogur, Okwang, Olilim, Orum and Adwari would benefit from the funds.
He said 20 communities had already been identified to implement the programme in the seven sub-counties.
Ogwal said the targeted communities would be asked to identify their HIV/AIDS related problems before the implementation of the programme.
He said a community with a budget of not more than sh5m would be funded directly by the district while that with one exceeding sh5m would be funded by the central government.
He added that a baseline survey on HIV/AIDS would first be conducted in the identified areas before the implementation of the programme.
