Since the program started in May 2005, talk show host Crystal Lee has cover HIV/AIDS topics pertaining to education, research, youth, lifestyle changes, and end-of-life.
"I am passionate about the dissemination of information and resources regarding HIV/AIDS," Lee said. "This is a ministry that is dear to my heart as I experience God's miraculous presence in the lives of individuals who are infected with HIV/AIDS and living a healthy, productive life."
Station manager E. Claudette Freeman said the program has improved the quality of life of many listeners and WMBM looked forward to having it on the air for many years.
New Birth Broadcasting Corporation, an arm of New Birth Baptist Church, which is under the leadership of Bishop Victor T. Curry, bought WMBM in 1995.
The Compassion anniversary celebration will start at 12:30 p.m. Monday and will include a luncheon and a live broadcast starting at 2 p.m. at New Birth Enterprise, 8400 NE Second Ave.
