The Community AIDS Partnership is a collaboration between private funders and the public sector, with significant funding support from Miami-Dade County. Since its founding in 1990, the partnership has awarded more than $3 million to local agencies battling against the spread of HIV/AIDS. This round of grants also includes funding awarded to the foundation through the national Johnson and Johnson/National AIDS Fund's Women and Families Initiative.
Grants awards include:
* Adult and Juvenile Educational Services, 10711 SW 216th St., Goulds: $15,000.
* Community-Jail Linkage Coalition, 1231 NW 24th St.: $30,000.
* Hep-C Alert, 660 NE 125th St.: $25,000.
* League Against AIDS, 3050 Biscayne Blvd., Miami: $50,000.
* Mothers' Voices of South Florida, 150 W. Flagler St., Miami: $122,000.
* MUJER, P.O. Box 900685, Homestead: $30,000.
* Pridelines Youth Services, P.O. Box 014340, Miami: $30,000.
* South Beach AIDS Project, 1234 Washington Ave.: $30,000.
* Theodore R. Gibson Memorial Fund, 3629 Grand Ave., Coconut Grove: $13,000.
* United Foundation for AIDS, c/o Center for Positive Connections, 12570 NE Seventh Ave., North Miami: $20,000.
* University of Miami -- Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, P.O. Box 016820, Miami: $60,000.
Established in 1967, Dade Community Foundation is Greater Miami's permanent philanthropic endowment. The Foundation provides nonprofit organizations funding support and technical assistance for programs and projects which benefit the community. Donations are welcome.
