But when she completes the program, she is still planning to sue the police department for allowing Officer Ambrose Sims, who tested positive for the AIDS virus, to conduct street arrests, her attorney Joel Hirschhorn said.
Morris had been charged with battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.
Sims said he did not oppose the agreement.
The dispute happened last Dec. 20, after Morris' car was towed from a closed drive-through lane of a bank at Alton Road and Dade Boulevard. She had gone into the nearby Publix for some quick shopping.
At Beach Towing, 1349 Dade Blvd., Morris became upset and called police. Sims responded.
Arguing with Sims, Morris grabbed her driver's license from his hands, touching him in the process. Hirschhorn called it a "brushing" motion. Sims called it battery on a police officer.
Sims said Morris fought with him as he tried to get her handcuffed, resulting in "several minor cuts" on Sims' hands.
Morris later found out that Sims is HIV-positive, and, with attorney Hirschhorn, publicly criticized Miami Beach police for allowing Sims to make arrests, citing a potential health risk.
Hirschhorn said that Morris must complete the required counseling and pay a $150 fine by June.
